This easy one pot chicken orzo pilaf combines tender chicken, vegetables, creamy orzo, milk, butter, and melted cheese for a comforting family dinner made in one pan.

Ingredients
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it begins to soften.
- Add the chicken to the pan and cook with the onion until the pieces are lightly browned on the outside.
- Add the grated carrot to the chicken and onion mixture. Stir and cook briefly until it begins to soften.
- Stir in the chopped red pepper and orzo. Cook everything together for a few minutes, stirring so the orzo is evenly coated with the flavors in the pan.
- Add the salt, black pepper, paprika, and butter. Stir until the butter melts and the seasonings are evenly distributed.
- Pour in the milk and hot water. Stir well, then reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer gently.
- Cook the orzo until it becomes tender and absorbs most of the liquid, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- When the orzo is almost completely cooked, add the grated cheese and chopped fresh parsley. Stir gently until the cheese melts into the creamy orzo.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let the chicken orzo pilaf rest for a few minutes. This allows the remaining liquid to settle and the texture to become creamier.
- Serve the chicken orzo pilaf warm while the orzo is creamy and the cheese is still melted.
