Soft & Juicy Chicken Wings (Easy Oven Chicken Recipe)
These soft and juicy oven-baked chicken wings are marinated with yogurt, tomato paste, honey, olive oil, and spices, then baked until tender with beautifully caramelized edges.

These oven-baked chicken wings are one of my favorite ways to make really juicy, flavorful wings without frying. The marinade is simple, but the combination of yogurt, tomato paste, honey, olive oil, and spices gives the chicken so much flavor while helping it stay tender in the oven. I like to let the wings sit in the marinade for at least 1–2 hours before baking. As they cook, the honey and tomato paste create those darker caramelized edges you can see in the finished wings, while the inside stays soft and juicy. They’re easy enough for a family dinner but also perfect for sharing at gatherings, parties, or game day. Everything can be prepared ahead of time, then the wings simply go into the oven when you’re ready to eat.

How to Make Soft & Juicy Chicken Wings (Easy Oven Chicken Recipe)
Prepare the Marinade
Add the yogurt, tomato paste, honey, olive oil, and your favorite spices to a large bowl. Mix until everything is well combined and the marinade is smooth.

Coat the Chicken Wings
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and mix thoroughly, making sure every piece is completely coated with the marinade.

Marinate the Wings
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the chicken wings for 1–2 hours to allow the flavors of the marinade to develop.
Arrange on the Baking Tray
Arrange the marinated chicken wings in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking tray, leaving a little space between the pieces.
Bake Until Caramelized
Bake at 185°C (365°F) using top and bottom heat for 45–50 minutes, or until the chicken is completely cooked through and the outside is golden and caramelized.

Serve
Remove the wings from the oven and serve immediately while the outside is caramelized and the chicken is still hot and juicy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I marinate chicken wings overnight?
Yes. You can prepare the wings the night before and keep them covered in the refrigerator overnight. The longer marinating time also gives the chicken more time to absorb the flavors.
Why use yogurt in the chicken wing marinade?
Yogurt creates a creamy marinade that coats the wings well and helps keep the chicken tender as it bakes.
Can I make these chicken wings spicy?
Yes. Add chili flakes, cayenne pepper, or your favorite hot spice blend to the marinade.
How can I get more caramelized edges?
Arrange the wings in a single layer without overcrowding the tray. Let them brown well toward the end of baking, but watch them carefully because the marinade contains honey.
Can I prepare the wings ahead of time?
Yes. Mix the wings with the marinade, cover them, and keep them refrigerated until you are ready to bake.
How do I know when chicken wings are fully cooked?
The chicken should be completely cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F) at the thickest part without touching the bone.
